  2. Hi Lori: Thank you so much for your message. It means so much. I can clearly understand why Melissa loved this place and so do you. I also love the picture of her that is hanging in the main room. God does work in mysterious ways.

Guatemala and this area is absolutely beautiful – the people and the country. We spent the last two days handing out meds. One location was a 4-hour drive over extremely rough terrain and very deep into the ‘bush’. It is a village that is so remote there are no towns or real roads. Dan found it on Google Earth. 20+ villagers accepted Jesus Christ as their savior. Praise God!!

Today we started on our home. The house is being build into a very steep part of the mountain and they have a million dollar view. The mother is a recent widow with 6 children, ages 17 to <1 year. She looks to be in her early 30's. She and her children are just such a delight. I will try to figure out how to post pictures.

I have been going out each morning and drinking my coffee on the deck watching the sun rise. I have thought of you often.

I can't wait to compare stories when I return. Until then…take care and God Bless.

P.S. I gave Dan his letter the first night we were hear. He asked me to tell you 'Hi!!' and asked how you were doing. I will be reading your message tonight.

  3. Hi Erica, Lauren and Sam!!! And all others who read this message.

We woke at 5:30 am and were on the road by 6:30 am to head to the homes we are building. We applied stucko to the outside of the homes, painted the inside and wrote bible verses on all four walls. We had the family, including the grandparents, paint the palms of their hands in different colors then placed them on the walls to look like butterflies. We (Elizabeth) drew a set of God’s hands underneather. It is to symbolize our transformation when we accept Christ as our savior. Pretty cool. Their homes are 10′ x 12′ and will be used for sleeping. We found out today that both of the children’s parents have died and a close family friend have taken the children in. They are so excited to have this extra space.

Tomorrow we had back out to dedicate all 5 homes to each family, provide them with God’s message and give them clothing, household items, toys, etc. We have two large suitcases.

We miss you and love you very much.
